Mission: Friends of Martial Cottle Park (FOMCP) inspires the community to care for, learn about and enjoy Martial Cottle Park and the agricultural heritage of Santa Clara Valley by promoting agricultural and environmental awareness and education programs and projects that support and preserve Martial Cottle Park.

FOMCP supports and adopts the Park Vision of the Martial Cottle State Park General Plan and County Park Master Plan of 2014 as the Vision for our organization:
The establishment of the Park will not only protect a rich piece of Santa Clara Valley’s history and 287.54 acres of fertile farmland in perpetuity, but it will enhance the soil and land to provide a unique agricultural, recreational, and educational resource. The main uses of the Park will include agricultural production, habitat enhancement, recreational facilities and trails, and educational and interpretive programming related to the Park’s cultural and natural resources. The Park will provide a range of educational and recreational opportunities that will be accessible to all users.

Values, the qualities that create the foundation upon which the vision and strategies for the County’s regional park system are built, are characterized in five themes. These themes are:

  • Quality of Life
  • Demand for recreational opportunities
  • Equitable access
  • Optimal park use
  • Partnership

FOMCP supports these same values and in partnership with the County adopts these values for our organization.
