Perhaps you walk the trails, enjoy family picnics, attend park events, or learn ranch history at the Visitor Center; or maybe you soak up the views and quiet at the center of this 287 acre park.  You might enjoy taking a tour or class presented by Santa Clara County staff, park volunteers or one of the park partner organizations.  You may like the variety of wildlife living in the park, or watching the 4-H sheep and steer graze.  Perhaps you bike, jog or walk your dog here, making friends along the way.  Or maybe you simply take the time to play with your children, photograph clouds, watch the farm crew working in the fields, or enjoy a summer movie under the stars.  Although it may hold something different for each of us, all can agree that Martial Cottle Park is a unique and special place, a gift from the Cottle/Lester family to be enjoyed, preserved and shared with future generations of Santa Clara County residents and visitors.

If you have ever thought, “How can I help?,” there is a new opportunity for you to get involved in supporting this park. In 2018, a group of volunteers, in collaboration with Santa Clara County Parks, formed a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called the Friends of Martial Cottle Park (FOMCP).

Our mission is to inspire the community to care for, learn about, and enjoy Martial Cottle Park and the agricultural heritage of Santa Clara Valley by promoting agricultural and environmental awareness and education programs and projects that support and preserve Martial Cottle Park.  The Friends of Martial Cottle Park will work in partnership with Park Staff and other stakeholders to support projects and programs that benefit the park, its partners, its visitors, and its volunteers.  The funding will come from a combination of membership donations, public and private grants, and fundraising drives and events.

Yes, Friends of Martial Cottle Park wants you!  Last summer our Board of Directors issued a first call for Volunteers to support and serve on a variety of FOMCP committees.  In addition we kicked off our Membership Drive, providing you with opportunities to join with others in supporting this wonderful park.  Those needs continue as we work together toward project goals.

As a member of FOMCP, you will be helping to support projects that directly impact Martial Cottle Park and the people it serves.  These may include interpretive elements within the park, restoration projects on the life estate, agricultural and environmental awareness and education programs, park facilities and others.  These projects are not only deserving of our support, but would not be accomplished without the help of Friends like you, so please consider joining.  As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, your donation to Friends of Martial Cottle Park is tax deductible (Federal Tax ID #83-1055927).

Let us know how you would like to help.

Members will be listed annually on our webpage Donor Wall.  FOMCP looks forward to your support.
